For two years, Dr. Andersen served as a missionary for his church in Mexico City, Mexico. While living there, he developed a love for the culture and people — and spicy food!

While Dr. Andersen has practiced in various clinics, his heart is in providing care to the undeserved. He has volunteered with the Georgia Mission of Mercy. He was also heavily involved with the Hispanic Dental Association. For years, he volunteered at a local farm, where he provided oral health care screenings and hygiene instruction to migrant workers and underprivileged members of the community. Because of this involvement, he was the recipient of the Academy of Dentistry International Student Servant Leadership Award.

Most recently he accompanied a group of medical professionals to Belize. His group was the first set of dentists in the village to offer dentistry in over four years.

Dr. Andersen enjoys mountain biking and photography. He and his wife, Courtney, enjoy hiking together with their son and two dogs, along with kayaking, scuba diving and traveling. They look forward to raising their family in Mountain City.
